So, was going to start a thread in the Administration section, but can't do posts there. So, looks like Aaron's playground it is...
Is any one building a bug list for the site? I think everyone can agree there's some "quirks".
I can't post anything on it from my phone (Pixel2, running Chrome). The only thing I seem to be able to get it to do is ask me to share a post somewhere else. If I wanted to post something on Facebook (I don't, thank you), I would have done it there in the first place.
Apparently using Chrome on a PC is better than Firefox, both are sketchy.
It seems notifications are problematic. A new post will send out a notification, but then no notifications for follow on posts to that thread.
Would be real nice if there were notifications for new trip/events being added.
Is there a way to link photos from 3rd party hosting sites (i.e. Flickr, etc), rather than having to directly upload photos (see above with not being able to do anything from the phone).
I signed up for Guy's Chelan County Solstice/Christmas run (never too early to get your name in the hat). Got an email confirmation and a calendar invite. But looking at the event now, I'm not listed (others are). Not a big deal but for other events with limited attendance that could be a problem.
I know it's a constant work in process and will continue to evolve. Just want to share what I am seeing with the Admin team so they are aware of what we're seeing from the outside.
When the crew gets back from Moab, we'll get together about the bugs.
i also can not post from my phone using crome it deletes the words as i type. Galaxy s9
Thanks for the feedback, Tom. Have you tried any other browsers? E.G. The generic Android browser. I've also been having issues with Chrome. I haven't tried any others yet though. The more data that are gathered though the better.
I've been having issues using my laptop (Explorer and Firefox) and my iPhone.
Laptop issues: Insanely slow to load and respond. I eventually give up and go somewhere else on the internet after three or four rounds of the 14.4k modem simulation experience.
iPhone issues: quote box icon covers up text I'm trying to type. Sometimes it completely prohibits responding at all. Other times it does what's happening to me as I write this and covers up the text so that I'm typing blind.
My iPad seems to be the only remotely stable platform
I tried from the generic android browser and it doesn't work on my samsung S8. I also have a tablet running chrome and it doesn't work either. A lot of the time on both i don't even get an option to type a reply
Thanks for the update, Tom.
With the new platform comes some new challenges, but we're working on it! Hopefully we can have things sorted out soon.
I pointed out the performance to Dan and made some suggestions regarding a CDN which should help.
I start typing a post, after the first word it jumps back to the start of the line unique behavior...Another When
Anytime I add a website link to a post, it doesn't show through on the post (i.e. seems to be a white font). The link is there, I just can't see it. Can't tell if it just shows that way only on my user, or if it's that way for everyone. (I have a link at the bottom of the post I just did for the Blewett Pass closure, it's there, but I can't see it, can anyone else?)
Same here (Chrome on Windows). I think it's a CSS problem. No controls available to me in the interface allow me to correct it.
Try this experiment. Type a word and add .COM. It converts to a hyperlink and turns white.
I dug into the CSS and the text editor is inheriting the white font from the <A> tag that that gets generated when the editor detects a hyperlink. Specifically the <A> is assigned class css-1c0kao4. When I remove that class from the <A> in chrome developer mode the links render as a normal blue hyperlink.
<a href="http://this.com" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer" class="VGJIv css-1c0kao4"><span data-offset-key="3ldek-0-0"><span data-text="true">this.com</span></span></a>
Further, that class is being inherited from the <style data-emotion></style> tag. If I delete that tag, then the hyperlinks are normal again.
I believe the <style data-emotion></style> should be in the BODY, not the HEAD. Moving it to the body also fixes the links.
See below article. Ironically, it's an invisible hyperlink.

Front end UI is not my specialty. So $.02.
Bug report: I can't post anything on mobile. When I use android and chrome all words are repeated after I type them, like maybe a JS spellchecker overdoing it (see screenshot)? Then if I delete text to the beginning of the text box then no more input it registered. I can't type at all without reloading. I only post from a computer which definitely makes me engage less because I can't reply in the moment when I get the notification email.
Feature request: Change the email notification subject from the very generic "Notification from JOIN THE DISCUSSION" to "NWOL: {Subject}" for example "NWOL: Navigation electronics"
Hi Community! Thank you so much for your patience and even helping research solutions to challenges. We are working with the developers to get it fixed; they think they have identified the problem. If all goes as planned, we hope to have it resoled today. Please do us a favor and try to sign out, close the page and then reopen the page (possibly even close the browser) the next time you go to use the forum. Crossing our fingers this works. I'll post an update as soon as we think the resolution is LIVE.
Thanks again for being awesome and helping us make this a good experience!
Okay, we think we’ve resolved the issues, but we will likely have to give it a few days to test out various folk’s experience. One thing to note is, your browser’s cookies/cache will likely try to access the previous page version (prior to updates), so if you’re having the same issue, you will probably need to:
- log out
- close the site
- potentially clear your cache
- reopen the site
- log back in
Thanks again for your patience. This post is a bit of a test, as I’m using my iPhone to see if all the functions are working... so far, so good! We seem to be able to access the edit toolbar and font options, link text and add viewable links, add photos, and add video.
Please let us know if things are working better in your end! Thanks again!!!
Here’s a couple of link tests as well >

One last desktop test... it seems to be working as well.
Received an email notification of a Post that I wanted to check out but keep getting this...
No way to tell what section it was in to browse and see if maybe just a link was broken
Thanks, John.
We had scheduled quite a few posts ahead of time to keep content alive, but in the process of doing so, we had to reconfigure the forums due to an update and a few bug fixes. After doing that, it broke all the links to the pre-scheduled posts. So, we have to go back one by one and repair those. PITA.

A constant game of Whack-A-Mole. In the world of programming, no good job goes unpunished, fix one thing, break 2 more 😉
Wix is pretty good about that. We are definitely testing their limits, though :-)
FYI. I just noticed my profile disappeared at some point. It was basically a cut and paste of my welcome forum post. So I know it was there. Weird.
