Too much fun exploring! Some great spots for camping (boondocking). Rewards you with some great viewpoints of Darrington to Arlington, and the Skagit Valley on the other side. Barely a pothole, and easy to travel 20-30 mph! Just a fun drive.
38 miles in about 3 hours, and that was goofing around a lot. Didn't get to explore the side roads, but saw some great places to stop!

That pic looks like Hay stack mtn . I take it you took the road from darrington that meets up with south Skagit on the Finny Cumberland creek road? Vicki and I found a gorgeous camp site on a spur off that road, very top of peak at 4300 ft. Watched moon come up and sun rise both from sleeping bags. We have gone bacl a cpl times. One of my very favorite places to get away. Camp site is on spur road that goes over Iron mtn pass. cant remember fs rd number. grrrr. It shows rd on like you show, but doesnt give fs number. Camp is just on north side of Iron mtn on map. One of the first main turns to the east when comming up from cumberland side. When you take that rd, go to a big gravel pit, camp is first right turn past pit. Hairpin right, go up till first flat, hard hi clearence, 4X4 manditory, STEEP short hop up to top on right at clearing. Barely big enough to park Jeep and make camp. But beautiful view, 360*
Another beautiful drive is from Darrington south on Mtn loop hiway following Sauk river to Verlot over Barlow pass.
Cool! Ya'll have an awful lot of trees over on that side of the mountain! :)
Looks like it would be a nice ride on my Suzuki too. Thanks!
