Went for a little drive with a couple guys from work this weekend to Capital State Forest. Nothing too adventurous, but a great break in drive for those of us with brand new rigs!
Here we are parked up on Rock Candy Mountain. Its not a huge peak at only about 2200ft, but you do have views of Mt. Rainier, Mt, St. Helens, Mt Adams, and the Puget Sound if the weather is clear. We had some clouds hanging around this morning though, so just took the opportunity to test out the new Silky Katanaboy and have a cold beverage :)
Man, these trucks look great on the road! Thats Doug behind me in the red 60 series Land Cruiser, and Mike in his 2017 Tacoma TRD.
Found this nice little logging cut to play around in. Both the 'Yota's made it up, but only after the Jeep showed them the way ;)
The clouds burned off a bit, so we got a chance to take in some of the south Puget Sound scenery.
All the trucks made it through the mud quite well considering everyone was running all terrain tires. Although we were all air-ed down to around 20psi. Definitely makes a big difference.
Afterwards we found a sunny spot to park have a small campfire! Hot dogs never taste quite as good as when roasted over an open fire!
Man contemplates dog, dog contemplates scenery....
All in all, a great day trip right in our own backyards!
