Did a trip this last weekend. Camped at Ranger Creek and did some wheeling during the day.
Pulled into Ranger fairly late Friday night after work.I see a white Navigator in the distance..turns out Phil and Rick were already there so we stopped and chatted with them for a while before making camp.
Had a new camp toy to test out:
Shortly after we arrived, Ed arrived. Sometime later Ryan and Rory arrived. The initial plan was to go run Stampede Pass. But the weather was not looking awesome so we decided to head east Saturday. Ed took off late Saturday morning to catch his son's soccer game. The 4 of us remaining headed east for the Naches area to run the Ravens Roost trail.
Had a fantastic day of wheeling. Didn't get that many pictures though. The weather wasn't that great, there was no view to speak of. Had to do some trail clearing. Got pretty sloppy slick in places with the rain. Had a blast!
Here you can just barely make out the microwave towers in the distance:
The last hill climb up to the top is steep and pretty slick when it's wet. Kristal's Tracker handled it without any problem!
Up at the top:
After we got back down to NF-19 a group of Tacomas drives by...and who is in the middle but Benjamin Wall! He stopped and chatted for a while and told us he'd just run Naches Pass with some Taco guys. Ran into a lot of people this weekend!
Seeing as the weather wasn't any better over in Naches, we headed back to Ranger Saturday night. Sunday morning we headed up NF-70 to do some plinking before heading home.
I'll try to get better about taking pictures on trips....
