Early Snowstorm!

Snow outside of Wenatchee, easily visible on the surrounding mountains. Mission Ridge Ski Resort has fresh snow, Stevens Pass has a LOT of new snow. The passes have been affected...

Nothing unusual for December... But this is September!

Use caution and be prepared.

We are at apx 2100 feet here at home, and when we got home from the cook off this aft, we see a good dusting in the hills around us here. Like 1/2 mile away and about 500 ft higher! WOW, way early. Wonder if this is a foretelling of how winter will be! Good to see you back here GUY!

What Are Your Evacuation Plans?

So, it's a "thing" now; Fire Season=Summer. We have to accept it for what it is, beyond pro-active preservation and deterrents. We've also experienced some pretty hairy thunder/lightning/flood systems recently... and snow is coming up on us.

So, that brings up a question for all: Do you have a "What If" or evacuation plan while out in the woods?

Let's here your ideas and input. Also, POST/share your stories/pics/videos of your craziest overlanding storms.

Here's an excellent illustration of your topic. Nothing Overland here but a Dad & Son caught in a fire in Glacier NP. https://youtu.be/yXubO7VPow0

Fire Activity Maps

Thank you NWOL Member, @lookitsjames for this info. We merged forums and carried this gem over on your behalf. We appreciate your contributions!

CalTopo has fire activity maps showing where current fires are and imagery that can show smoke plumes. A good resource to check before you go.

Great point, Matt. I will fire one up and share it on Social so we get some good feedback from our member base.
