Added the Yaesu 400FTM XDR with APRS to the beast. Just started learning and programming but made the first contact through the Puget Sound repeater...so much more to learn. Very pleased with the install from Truck Gear 4x4 of Silverdale.

We put down in a nice campground in Priest River, Idaho to test all the systems and selected inventory for our, recently delivered, OGT, Expedition 2.0. Except for a small issue in getting hot water to the kitchen sink, we could not be happier and plan to go truly off-grid with an Overland Trek near Glacier National next month. Hello community! Made the decision that the Yaesu FTM 400 XDR will be the best all-round solution for the rig...pulled the trigger today. Do any of you who have this radio (APRS/2m/70cm) have a favorite antenna to consider mounting on the the truck rack? Still going after the IC-705 for HF and campsite contacts but after the general license is in hand.

We bought the Wen 56235i. It has 2350 surge watts and 1900 steady state. Diesel powered, it has a great AC/DC power suite and in Eco mode, stays under 53 Db. Very pleased so far...will report back when we work it out in the field.

Putting out an "ask" to the group for favorite rig camp sites in or near Olympic National Park? Now that we have truck and trailer ready, we are hopeful to get out there and get more familiar with our gear. Thanks! Blaine and Jeana

Took delivery in Northern Idaho from Off Grid Trailers...could not be happier. It's all winterized and bedded down in storage...cannot wait to go back and give it a work out! Will post a review after we have a few adventures. Tow rig is our F-350 with 6" BDS lift and Nitto Ridge 38".

Our Off Grid Trailer Expedition 2.0 was completed in Edmonton, CA this morning. Excited for delivery and our first adventure soon. Will do a full review here after we log some trail time in it!
