In ACTIVITY/TRIP PLANNING
Starting to narrow down the date to complete the WABDR from Ellensburg to Canada. I know some of you here were interested. It will happen in July or August... just 2 or 3 months from now. Some of you may want to do the Stevenson to Ellensburg legs and meet us there first. Maybe someone can step up and lead that portion? We're looking at at least 3 solid days, possibly 4 to complete it. We'll narrow it down more when we select the exact date. So, I have the July weekends of the 6th, 13th and 20th available. August I have the 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th and 31st (every weekend). We can opt to go Friday-Monday, Thursday-Sunday or Saturday-Tuesday. My preference is Thursday-Sunday, but I'm flexible. We'd prefer to have the same folks with us for the duration, so that keeping track of everyone for safety is easier. Other than if we meet a group in E-burg. Ham radios will be used. If you don't have one or a license, that's fine, but we'll have someone in the front and one in the rear at a minimum. We haven't set a maximum number of vehicles, but If we get too many, splitting it up will be inevitable, especially if camp spots don't have enough space. Put your interest, date preferences and thoughts below, please.

A few of us here in central wa are going to hit the WABDR on SEPT 7-9. From Stevenson to Eburg with 2 nights camped on the trail. We're not "serious" overlanders, but we do have plenty of offroad experience. We'd like to keep the group small, between 3 and 5 vehicles. We have 2 already. So, if anyone else wants to come with, let me know and I'll keep you in the loop. Also, there may be a few more tagalongs that may want to ride with someone. So post if you'd have a seat available.

In OVERLAND RALLIES & EXPOS
I'm departing Yakima at about 14:30 today (Thursday), and it will take me 2 hours to get there. If anyone is an amateur radio op, I'll be monitoring 146.520 and probably be pinging on APRS.FI under K7GTC-7. See ya'll there. Darin (K7GTC)

In INTRODUCE YOURSELF
I'm Darin, and I'm new here, just joined a couple days ago. I'm still poking around, getting to know things. I'm a Machinist by day, farmer by night. Former military and been a General Class amateur radio operator for a number of years now. I live on the dry side of the Cascades here in Wasington. Spent a lot of time growing up in the hills, doing overlanding stuff before we even knew to call it overlanding, haha. Anyway, I recently purchases a '17 Toyota Tacoma to add to the 4x4 fleet, the other being a '95 Jeep Wrangler. But the Tacoma will be my main interest for now. Glad to be here, and I'm all ears and eyes to learn from the collective wisdom I've seen so far.
