In INTRODUCE YOURSELF
I've been building up a 1980 CJ-5 thinking that the wife and I could do a little wheeling when we become empty nesters. The problem is that she doesn't like the kind of wheeling the CJ is best suited for, and the thing isn't exactly a freeway cruiser. So I started looking into other types of wheeling and rigs. After she and I watched hours of Coyote Works videos on YouTube, she seems pretty keen to give it a go. I'd love to just jump in and buy a Rubicon or TRD Pro, I don't have that kind of money. What I do have is a 2002 Subaru Outback. I'm thinking it might be an entry level overland if I lifted it a little, put slightly larger AT tires on it, added some recovery points, and the center differential lock mod. Does any one here have some recommendations for overland adventures that are doable by a slightly modded Subaru with its horrible approach and departure angles?
