ADVENTURE TRAVEL ENTHUSIASTS DEDICATED TO OVERLAND EXPLORATION
SATURDAY, DECEMBER 19TH
IN TACOMA, WASHINGTON
I
10:30AM - 2:30PM
WHAT'S THIS
ALL ABOUT?
TURN THE DARKEST
DAY OF THE
YEAR
INTO A
RAY OF HOPE
2020
LET'S SEE IF WE CAN MAKE THIS SIMPLE...
We hope you'll join us and our flagship partner, The Camp Bar on a "DO GOOD" road trip through T-Town this upcoming Saturday, December 19th between 10:30am and 2:30pm.
The goal is to drop much needed resources at participating local businesses that will then donate the items to a relevant organization.
THAT'S PROBABLY NOT ENOUGH... HERE'S A LITTLE MORE INFO
SMALL BUSINESSES
choose an organization
decide on donation item
(hats, socks, toys, etc.)
add drop-off station to the list
(location of your choice)
** wear mask & gloves **
make a sign with your "tags" so
road-trippers can "share" your participation when they drop by
hand-off received donations
to your partner organization

check the small biz list & org list to see what items are being collected
clean your closet and/or purchase needed donations and drop them off between 10:30am - 2:30pm
grab your family, fill up that thermos, turn up the holiday tunes, pile in your rig and take a road trip
tag northwest overland, the camp bar & the small biz drop location
** (points will be involved) **
LOCAL ORGS
sign up on the list so people know what you need
encourage a local biz to be a donation drop location (tag em')
invite everyone and their brother/sister to join the fun
express thanks through virtual high-fives throughout the day
help arrange receipt of donated items with the drop-site
** (make it easy) **
LOCAL ORGS
ARE YOUR
HANDS CLEAN
WE'RE SURE YOU HAVE QUESTIONS
We'll try to guess - and answer them...
1.) Is it SAFE?
Yes, if participants are willing to follow a few guidelines.
-
"givers" please remain in your vehicle
-
place all donated items in plastic bags for the exchange
-
wear a mask when passing donations through your rig's window
-
donation drop-location teams, please wear a mask & gloves
2.) Drop WHAT ?
We're looking for a few businesses to coordinate with orgs that are looking for...
-
coats (feel free to clean out your coat closet)
-
hats (a lot of displaced neighbors & kiddos could use one)
-
scarfs (it's really cold outside)
-
gloves (who doesn't want warm hands...)
-
cozy socks (and warm feet)
-
toys-for-tots (it's the holidays, covid doesn't change being a kid)
-
non-perishable food items (school-age children could use help)
3.) WHERE ?
This depends on the local biz community. We need you to raise your hand to collect the items above - and anything else you'd like to add to the mix, based on the needs of our community organizations. A few other ideas are...
-
children's clothing/shoes (it's time to clean those closets)
-
toiletries (these are expensive - yet very necessary)
-
pet food (difficult places in life are easier with a beloved pet)
-
sleeping bags (this might actually save a life)
-
tent/old camping gear (this could be someone's home)

A HUGE SHOUT OUT
we hope you'll take a road trip with us
Please stand by for updates! We believe if we band together, we can have a safe & meaningful time with our loved ones - determined to finish 2020 strong... with an attitude of overcoming & rebuilding.
We understand it would be ideal to do this in cities all over the PNW, shoot, all over the country, but that's a little more than we can take on. In Tacoma, we have some great partnerships willing to help us pull this off, so we're going to start here. Who knows... maybe we'll inspire a movement and other cities will plan a road trip of their own!
