About the event
Wenatchee, WA Adventure / Guy Miner - 509.885.5905
We've done this in the past, and it's always fun! Meet up at the Shell station, easy access just off the highway. Fuel up, swap stories, and head out! Swakane Canyon is a few miles north of Wenatchee, just off Hwy 97A. How far we go will be determined by weather & road conditions. Sometimes it's easy, sometimes it's very difficult! At a minimum we'll try to reach Nahahum Canyon for our exit, but we usually manage to get beyond that.
Vehicles should be in good condition, with good tires & tow points fore & aft! We've sometimes found tire chains useful. If you have Max Trax, shovels, recovery straps and that sort of thing... They're useful too! A saw or two has also been a good thing to have along.
We'll have lunch along the trail somewhere. Dogs & Kids are welcome. Winter clothing is important. Normally it's not TOO cold and snowy, but a couple of years ago the temps got down to 7 degrees while we were in the canyon!
Perhaps Milepost 111 after the run?
Please make sure you have the following:
- Good tow points front and rear
- Good tires
- Tire chains (OPTIONAL, BUT HIGHLY ADVISED)
- Shovel
- Winter clothing
