Putting out an "ask" to the group for favorite rig camp sites in or near Olympic National Park? Now that we have truck and trailer ready, we are hopeful to get out there and get more familiar with our gear. Thanks! Blaine and Jeana
We like the Olympics. I've been around Staircase, Mt. Elliot, Mt. Rose, Lake Quinault, and the Hoh River and Rainforest. There is much dispersed camping to be had. https://www.fs.usda.gov/activity/olympic/recreation/camping-cabins/?recid=47687&actid=34 We want to get near Lake Wynoochee and explore - it's on the to do list.
TJ, Lae Wynoochee is my plan for my trailer's initial shakedown trip. I'll keep you posted.
Thanks much! Will start there.
Hi Blaine,
I can send you some GPX tracks so you can go explore. Maybe create an event and invite some fellow members!
Dan
Hi Dan, I'd be interested in those as well if you do not mind sharing. I think you already have my email address and cell number?
@T.J. Purdy Can do!
Blane, look at a spot called Denny Ahl hill, Just big enough for 2-3 rigs with a decent view of the Hood canal area. 47°24'05.5"N 123°16'06.5"W
only downfall is that it's a fairly popular spot and a drive up visitor can be expected.
