Had some time Mon/Tues to get out. Headed to Mazama and found my favorite campsite off Goat creek rd. No one around.

Just installed my arb awning...really appreciated how simple it is to use and how effective it is. Had a bit of rain on Tuesday morning and did not notice due to being under the awning.

I am addicted to using my ZZ manufacturing wood burning stoves...the eagle is no longer made but I find them on Ebay every so often. I have 3 :) Work great and will burn anything on the ground around the campsite. Put out a ton of heat.

Hung out for a few hours in the morning listening to the creek and reading.
Headed out to find a couple gold mines in the area.

Searched for the Molly mine and just found holes. Was just enjoying driving on random roads and the views.

A nice loop with some great views is NF-400 rd that turns into Long creek rd. ( I think) Great views and met some hikers with a very energetic dog. He liked to dig.

Parked at Goat Creek snowmobile park and went for a easy 10 mile mt bike ride. Late lunch at Mazama store and then home.
Great area.
Hey, thanks for the share! Looks like a great area. I am sure you must have appreciated the tranquility of the lack of *noise* around.
Very cool.

Amazing what a difference there is between a weekend trip and the quiet of a weekday trip.
Interesting stove, hadn't seen those before. Does the Eagle have the little fan too, like the Sierra?
It is made by sierra. ZZ manufacturing originally made the sierra and this and a few other models. The eagle is not made anymore unfortunately. I have been collecting them for several years and find the eagle is a great base camp stove. I have used the smaller sierra stoves for motorcycling trips and backpacking for many years.
Here is a shot showing the fan and damper adjustment. Works off of a d battery. I have a couple other eagle models that are brand new and 5-6 of the sierra stoves. Kind of a stove collector I guess. :)
You can click the link under the picture and find the history of the eagle model.

Picture of the truck before heading home. When I originally bought the ranger I was thinking this is just a temporary truck for a few years then I will get a "real" offroad rig. I love this thing. Dead simple, rides nice, pretty quiet on the road, very capable off road. Keep thinking I should get a better rig but it does it all well.
Very cool! I absolutely love it over there
