On Aug 4th we met at the flying J truck stop in Ellensburg and left for the river shortly after 9:30. Attending were Mark and Vicki, Kristal, Leona , Niesha and Nick. We did the vehicle shuttle down to the Rosa dam take out. Once all the floatable devices were all pumped up, we hit the river. Right out of the get go, we had a minor issue that fortunately turned out good. We had a leasurely float with about half a gazillien other floaters! Well, not quite that many, but it was a very popular thing to do that warm and sunny day. We tried to stop part way down the river for a rest stop but it was more of a lesson in how not to load gear I'm thinking! LOL. We had a few things that developed a mind of their own and tried to continue on down river on their own. Most all was recovered with the main casualty being Nieshas water proof speaker for her music. I think we discovered that "water proof" doesn't nessessarily mean that it FLOATS! Sorry girl! Hope you can find anotherone soon. Once we got all gathered backnup, we continued on down to the take out point and loaded up to head back home. On the way down river we saw many different kinds of wildlife, birds, wildlife of the four legged AND two legged verieties! A huge thanks to all who attended. We hope to make this an anual event, or maybe a bi-anual event. Pics to follow soon. Leona and others, please feel free to post all your pics here.
