X-bull traction boards vs. Maxtrax

I am sold on my X-bull traction boards as they've held up great under normal usage for me. If anyone is on the fence here's a good video showing the comparison.

Does anyone on here have any preferences or "best" ways to carry these? They are big, bulky and MUDDY when they have been used. I have seen them on top, on the spare tire, etc etc

There is a video on youtube about a guy that mounted them to his roof rack using some all thread and wing nuts.

  • Ok. I've been car camping/overlanding/whatever it'll be called next week since I was a kid. I've done the ground tent thing., the rooftop tent thing and now I want to get into the squaredrop/teardrop thing. My wife is tired of being the soft taco in gruzzly country and would like to be in a hard shell to at least give us time to scream and yell before our deaths. Ove pretty moch narrowed it down to three manufacturers. 1. Teardrops NW 2. Oregon Trail'r 3. Off Grid Trailers Looking for opinions on those three. Don't care about others. Thanks
  • I'm think of purchasing the smittybilt overlander xl tent (2883). My question is which roof rack to match it with that under $1000 closer to $500. My rig is a 1997 Jeep Wrangler Sport 4.0 with a 2016 JK Rubicon suspension and 1.25 Daystar body lift. Can any one please give me suggestions. Thank you.
