ADVENTURE TRAVEL ENTHUSIASTS DEDICATED TO OVERLAND EXPLORATION

OVERLAND DESTINATIONS
Hoping for Ideas - Western Washington Camping
Hi all, I've got some time off coming in December so hoping someone can suggest some wilderness camping spots in the Peninsula or in SW Washington areas. Rain is okay, just hoping to avoid snow. Thanks in advance!
Trip from Greenwater (410) to Thorp (I-90) Sept. 10-11
Changes to trip plan:
I've trimmed the trip From 3-days to 2-days (Saturday-Sunday)
I had a trip planned for Sept. 10th through the 11th, starting at Greenwater Hwy 410 and coming out on I-90 near Thorp. The route will start near Kaner flat campground going over Manastash Ridge, Shoestring trail and Tripod flats. Some of these trails are considered difficult and in several places very tight between the trees. I have a 2014 Tacoma Off-Road with sliders that have push me off a tree or two.
Most of the folks that planned to go have backed out for various reasons, I would still like to do the trip and thought I could open this up to others in this group. One of my first overland adventures, several years ago, was with folks from this group and I really enjoyed that trip.
So if you are interested in this trip letโฆ
Rob,
This is great! Can I post this up as an event on our calendar? I think you will get a great response!

Olympic Forest & N. Park
Need your suggestions & recommendations. Wife and I are planning our first trip to Olympic Forest &. NP after Labor Day holiday. Are just in the beginning planning stages. Looking for your must see's and recommended camp sites for tent/cot camping. If you can provide your favorites places and sights. GPS coordinates would be helpful. Will be traveling from Wenatchee.
Thank you in advance
Tom
I recommend Graves creek. Entrance is lake Quinault. Road has lots of potholes, but some sweet waterfalls. Campground is on the river. Is also at the trailhead to enchanted valley. Elk meander through the area. High likelihood of a sighting.
Mark, I see that nobody has replied. What you are asking for is kind of challenging, if you want wilderness area you usually are up in elevation. You could go in the Hoh rainforest area.
If you are okay with the coast, that's not really wilderness, but there won't be snow. Good luck and I hope you find something pleasant. Just start driving and see what happens ๐
