Day Trip to Gifford Pinchot NF

Photos from yesterday's adventure. I already have a love-hate relationship with Flickr. I love the way they organize and display photos, but there isn't an attractive option for a write up.

I started the day with a hike to Camp Creek Falls. I was blown away by the beauty of this waterfall. Photos just don't do the forest justice, you need to experience it for yourself.

Further up the road I scrambled up to Washout Falls where I got my shoes wet. Thankfully I thought to bring a second pair of shoes and socks.

At Pinto Creek Falls, I scrambled up the hillside for closer photos where I got my second pair of shoes and socks wet. Thankfully Jeeps have excellent heaters. Barefoot I drove...

By the time I got to the turnaround point on the road to Sunrise Peak, my shoes and socks were dry enough for another hike. It was a hefty climb just to the trailhead, and I decided to come back another day to tackle the actual hike to the peak.

I need to bring a better camera to photograph the elk. My little iPhone just doesn't cut it when zooming.

It was a day full of discovery that won't be soon forgotten.

I loved Cispus so much, I volunteered my senior year to be a counselor. Not quite as much fun as being a kid there but it was a blast. I'm glad it's still a thing.
