Vincent Urban - In Russia

One of my favorite videographers and movie short story tellers is German born, Vincent Urban.

Urban is best known for his series of video shorts you can find on Vimeo, YouTube and Slim called, “In …” Where “…” represents any random country name. Vincent has done many projects including a small project he has produced for Lufthansa Airlines call #LifeChangingPlaces.

By far, my favorite In … episode is “In Russia” Where he captures a very frosty “Cold War” feel in the beginning of the short and warms it up a bit towards the end with the Russian people opening up with a sense of humanity and a genuine smile. Check it out!

Astrophotography

When I was down in the Owyhee Canyonlands a few weeks ago, I set up my Canon 70D with 50mm lens and booted up Backyard EOS, a Windows based camera intervalometer that wakes the camera up and executes a planned series of exposures while the photographer is sleeping.. these shots were on a moonlit night, not ideal for long exposures, but I did get some interesting 'light painting' effects on the canyon walls from these long 20 second exposures.

I'm looking forward to getting back out to the desert and doing more astrophotography. My next project is to photograph some deep sky objects with a tracking mount like the Ioptron SkyTracker...

Anyone else into astrophotography ?

best refractor telescope under 1000 There can be no better combo than a sky full of stars and a good telescope These magnificent giants in the sky cannot be seen by the naked eye. You need a telescope. Probably the best telescope your budget allows. I have compiled this list for you, the reader, to make it easy so that you can choose the best telescope for yourself under $1000 or even a bit over it. These are the best professional telescopes for astrophotography. I have also included a small guide on How To Choose A Telescope after the Conclusion. Be sure to read that up so that you know how to select the best telescope for yourself.
